Please call Pastor to find out when is good time to come.
Every Day during Holy Week Services and Sermons or Devotions will be recorded and posted on the Church YouTube Channel and on Facebook. A few members may attend the Maundy Thursday and Easter Vigil services to assist in the traditions of those services and use those opportunities for communion.
Easter Day Service and Sermon will be recorded and posted on the Church YouTube Channel and on Facebook. Pastor will be at church from 8:00am to 11:30am offering short communion services (no more than 20 mins) and averaging about 5 people per service. These services will be offered every half hour. Please call Pastor to find out when is a good time to come.
*** Pastor is also available to schedule alternate times with you or your family for a short private communion service.
Offerings It is vital to the life and ministry of our congregation that we continue to be faithful stewards in our tithes and offerings. Every one of us should give the firstfruits of what we have to God and to His Church (the Bible’s expectation is 10% of our income). Please continue to help support our church. We still have bills to pay and jobs to get done, even if you’re not able to attend a service. Currently, you may mail your offering to the church, or you can drop it in our new drop-box. There is a black, metal, secure box on the sidewalk at the corner of the building next to the ramp. You can just pull up and stick you offering in there.
Pick-up Devotions and Hymnals There are new devotion pages for each week, as well as devotion books that will get you through the rest of Lent. These are available on the table in the annex. You are also encouraged to check-out some hymnals for use at home, especially if you are watching services and Pastor’s devotions online. This way you can follow along at home. Just sign your name on the sheet provided.
Sermons on the Radio Trinity, Clinton continues to broadcast Pastor’s sermon from the previous week each Sunday (just after 8:00am) on KROS FM 105.9 or AM 1340. St. John, Clinton is on at 9:30am.
God’s Word Online There are now several ways you can hear God’s Word online. You can read Pastor’s sermons still on his sermon blog at www.externumverbum.blogspot.com. Or now you can watch our church services, as well as devotions and Bible studies with Pastor, on our church’s YouTube Channel. Just go to www.youtube.com and search for “Immanuel Lutheran Charlotte.” The first option that comes up with Luther’s Rose is our channel with all our videos. Enjoy and share it with others! You can also still find information for our Church and for Home Devotions on our church website www.immlutherancharlotte.org, and on our church Facebook Page.

Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte Response to the Present Health Emergency: March 17–31
Dear beloved children of God, With faith in Christ our only, true Savior, and in compliance with the order from our State Governor, it has been decided by Pastor and the Elders to put the following plan into place, at least until March 31. We will revisit the issue for April in the days and weeks to come. All Regular Church Services, Classes, and Meetings are canceled for the rest of March We are trying to give due honor to our civil authorities, which have been set in place by God Himself. This means we will not have gatherings over 10 people. However, as Christians we know that “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4). The emergency facing our country and the decision to cancel church is a tragedy and certainly a test from God. But don’t follow the rest of the world blindly. We need His grace, His comfort, and assurance now more than ever. Our faith cannot live without God’s Word of Truth and the body and blood of Jesus that gives everlasting life. As important as physical health and safety are, we know that spiritual health is even more important. So, we are striving to provide multiple opportunities for you to continue receiving God’s Word and Sacrament during this difficult time: Facebook, YouTube, Pastor’s Sermon Blog, Church Website * You will be able to find links to resources for sermons and services on our church Facebook Page *Trinity, Lowden will continue to provide services on YouTube that you can watch at home. Pastor Dodgers and St. John, Clinton are also looking into this. Use the Facebook Page to look for updates. * Pastor’s Sermons will also be available on his blog if you would prefer to read a sermon. Again, you can always check the Facebook Page for the most recent updates. * Also check the Church Website for other updates and online resources: www.immlutherancharlotte.org Radio * Trinity, Clinton will continue broadcasting Pastor’s sermon each Sunday morning (just after 8:00am) on KROS FM 105.9 or AM 1340. St. John, Clinton is on at 9:30am. Small Group Communion Services * Pastor Dodgers is planning to offer the following times for groups of 10 to attend a shortened service at church with a Sermon and Holy Communion. Great care will be taken to sanitize in between services. * Please consider, if you are still going to work or to the store, you will be even more safe coming to church for a short time with very few other people. It is good to be cautious, but we can never completely forsake the gifts that God offers in the Word and the Sacrament. * Call Pastor Dodgers to sign-up for any of the following times if you are able and desire it. o Home: 563-677-2759 or Cell Phone: 616-648-6489 * Sunday, March 22 – 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm, 5:00pm * Wednesday, March 25 – 9:00am, 12:00pm, 7:00pm * Sunday, March 29 – 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm, 5:00pm God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 1 Tim. 1:7 Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27 Let’s keep our faith and the life of our church strong by continuing in the Word of God and prayer. We can still be a light in these dark times, pointing people to Christ, the true Physician of all our ills in body and soul. Continue making use of Christ’s ministry in the Word and Sacrament for yourself, your family, and friends. Your servants in Christ, Pastor Dodgers, The Congregation’s Elders and President |
Corona Virus Update 3-16-2020
We here at Immanuel take the latest Corona virus (Covid 19) very seriously, and want to ensure the public as well as our congregation and church workers are healthy and stay safe. In that regard we have a few announcements to make concerning our services as well as what we are doing to ensure the spread of this virus is minimized and or lessened. These plans and decisions are very fluid and may be changed at any time and we will try our best to update as necessary. Our Facebook page is being updated as well. As of 3/16/2020 All Sunday school classes and Wednesday Catechism classes have been suspended for a minimum of 2 weeks which at the end of March 2020 will be reevaluated to see if they need to be suspended longer. Wednesday night Lenten services held on Wednesday nights at 7 pm are still on as scheduled with the only change we will not be serving luncheons after the services. Sunday morning Worship services are also still on as scheduled at 10 am on Sundays. If anyone is feeling sick, have anyone in your family that are sick or has any medical issues please do not feel you need to attend services. We would like you to stay at home and get better as well as lessen the chance to pass on what you are experiencing to the congregation and public. Pastor is available to talk to you and or visit you if you want or need. Please let him know if this is necessary. If you know of any elderly or shut ins in need of groceries, help and or spiritual help, please let Pastor or the church know, so that they can be checked on and or helped so as they are not forgotten. Our Pastor, Church leaders and Elders are keeping in contact with our Synod, areal Pastor's, and other health officials, to ensure we are doing what we can to help s all get through these unprecedented times. If you have any questions please contact Pastor or any of our Church leaders and Elders. We will try to keep the latest information on our plans updated as we can. |

Kitchen Floor!
The Ladies Circles have decided to go ahead with a new floor in the kitchen, costing about $4700. As of last month we had $2600 in the Floor fund. The Circles have added to that so we are now only short about $1100. The new floor will be put in soon, but we have 6 months interest free to pay the balance. Please consider helping us by marking your gift "Kitchen Floor" and putting it in the collection plate. Thank you! |
